Nene's story

Néné is 36 years old, married and the mother of 4 children. She lives in a traditional family setting in the Médine district of Ségou (4th administrative district of the Republic of Mali).

Néné went to Koranic school before leaving to get married. She started working alongside her parents who are good, reputable dealers in Ségou. After several years of apprenticeship with them, she started working alone, undertaking many activities. She ended up devoting herself to the production and sales of fruit juice. She has been in this line of work for 10 years and her products are sold in many of the kiosks in Ségou.

To increase her capital, Néné turned to Soro Yiriwaso, an institution she has been with for 24 months. Having correctly repaid 2 individual loans, she is on her 3rd individual loan, which she plans to use to get 10 bundles of packaging material. She gets her supplies in Bamako.

Néné makes her sales for cash or credit to a clientele composed of women and men. With this loan, she expects to make a monthly profit of 100 000 francs which will enable her to cover certain family expenses.
