A loan of $1,050 helped to restart her traveling and dressing bag business.

Teresah's story

Teresah is the operator of a traveling bag (suitcase) and dressing bag business. She has operated the business for three years, but recently got sick and was unable to restock her inventory. She has now rejoined her trust group and is planning on using this loan to restock her inventory. She was a long-term member of the trust group and started by selling simply lingerie and undergarments and then expanded to more expensive bags.

In addition to running her business, Teresah is taking care of her sister’s four children. Her sister passed away recently.

Teresah is a member of the trust group Nyame Nsa Wom (God’s Hand Is In It). The trust group uses peer pressure as a type of social collateral that ensures each member repays their share of the loan.
