Mwanamkasi's story

Mwanamkasi is a married woman with two children, both of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for her family.

For the past 7 years, she has operated a weaving business, making roofing materials from coconut leaves and selling them from her home to her customers. She faces a major challenge of transportation and seasonality. She dreams of opening a kiosk.
