Ogla is a mother of four children and has been in farming for ten years. She says farming has been her only source of income. She runs her farm with the help of one farmhand.
Ogla has requested a loan of 62,400 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to buy and insure a dairy cow. She is optimistic about the business growth and is focusing on having a farm of three quality dairy cows and ranking among the established dairy farmers.
She says animal diseases remain a challenge.
To facilitate a partnership between Kiva and Juhudi Kilimo, K-Rep Group (Juhudi Kilimo’s 100% owner) has guaranteed Kiva funds in the event of institutional default. Lenders should be aware that the risk of borrower default remains borne by the lender.
