A loan of $1,000 helped to buy maize and bean seeds, fertilizer, and tools.

Gerardo's story

56-year old Gerardo lives with his wife and children. He earns his living by growing and selling maize and beans. It’s a profitable business if you know how to do it--and Gerardo has 20 years of experience in the field.

He recently started planting his crops but hasn’t finished yet. Now that the rainy season has started he wants to get going again. All that he sells is of first-rate quality and at good prices. With good service thrown in, his customers are always satisfied.

Gerardo is a hardworking, honest, and humble man but always determined too. He sees life as an opportunity to be seized. For this reason he decided to approach INTEGRAL for a loan so he can buy maize and bean seeds, fertilizer, tools etc. He hopes that if he works hard, his goals will be reached. He also grows coffee as a back up; this generates enough income to meet his financial obligations. In these ways he hopes to provide his family with a better standard of living.
