A loan of $575 helped to purchase groceries to stock her store.

Sofía's story

Sofía, 45, is a hardworking and enterprising woman who, in addition to being nice and friendly, is very eager to get ahead. She is separated from the father of her children and lives in her own house with her three children, Marvin who is 24, Karen who is 22 and Marlon who is 10 years old. She also has a granddaughter who is two years old.

Sofía works selling groceries staples in a store located in her home. She set up a space where she could accommodate her merchandise. She started this business more than four months ago with a bank loan. Her daughter mainly looks after the store since Sofía has a job providing cleaning services to a bank in her town. She considers her business quite profitable since her products are staples and people need to buy them every day, giving her capital a constant rotation. Additionally, with their kindness and good treatment, she and her daughter have earned the preference of their neighbors.

Before starting this store, she did not have financial problems, but she wanted to generate additional income to improve her financial situation and give her daughter a job. She saw an opportunity in her neighborhood, since there were no bodegas in that area. Seeing the good results that she is having, she wants to continue with the business and increase her stock of merchandise.

This is her third loan with MFP. She is happy to know that she will have the financial support to advance her business. She promises to be responsible with her payments, as she has been with her previous loans, so that she will be able to have access to other loans in the future.

With the loan requested for 1500 nuevos soles, she will purchase groceries to stock her store, so that her products will be varied and ready to be sold.
