A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase a large oven and gas cylinders.

Angelica's story

Angelica is 35 years old. She is unmarried and lives with her partner and their 3 children, who are ages 4, 6, and 16. She makes a living preparing and selling bread and salteñas [empanadas] at her bakery, which is located in the town of Monte Grande. This is Angelica’s first loan with Emprender, and she will use it to purchase a large oven and gas cylinders for her bakery. She is asking for this loan so she can grow her business and thus generate more profits. Angelica’s main challenge in her business is increasing her production, and therefore her earnings as well. She is going to use her profits to improve her family’s quality of life. Angelica’s dream is for her business to do well so she can leave something for her children.
