Belia Yesenia

Honduras
Calpules, Cortes, Honduras / Grocery Store

A loan of $1,050 helped to buy corn, sugar, cooking oil, and medicine. She will use the other part of the loan to repair a freezer.

Belia Yesenia's story

Belia, age 38, is the single mother of two children. She lives with them and her grandmother in the La Lima municipality, Cortes.

Belia’s business activity is a grocery store where she sells food products (rice, pasta, meat, sausages, flour, soft drinks, vegetables, beans, potatoes, bread, and medicine). She started her business with her own capital. Later, she managed to increase her inventory by using her earnings.

She now has a fixed clientele, which enables her to have an increase in her sales. Also, the demand for a greater supply of products has increased.

She has currently requested her fourth loan for 20,000 lempiras. She will use the loan to buy corn, sugar, cooking oil, and medicine. She will use the other part to repair a freezer. This way she will give her customers better service by selling excellent quality products.

Her dream is to increase sales and to use the earnings to grow financially. She will do this to support her children’s education and to attain a stable business.
