Lina es una persona que siempre se ha caracterizado por ser muy trabajadora, y gracias a esta cualidad ha logrado superar grandes dificultades que se le han presentado en la vida. Hasta hace aproximadamente 3 años trabajaba en una empresa vendiendo ropa, pero dado que su salario no era suficiente para poder contribuir económicamente en su hogar, decidió independizarse y montar su propio negocio. Fue así como desde hace unos 3 años montó un cibercafé donde ofrece a sus clientes el servicio de Internet y gracias a la buena atención ha logrado captar muy buenos clientes. La principal ventaja que tiene es que está ubicada en un sector estratégico, pues cerca de su negocio hay tres colegios lo que le permite tener muy buena afluencia de clientes, sin embargo, su mayor dificultad es que existe mucha competencia que compite con muy buenos precios, por lo que ahora busca que un préstamo le permita comprar productos de papelería para ofrecer a sus clientes el servicio de impresión y argollado de las mismas, y así poder generar diferenciación en sus clientes.

De esta manera su negocio podrá diferenciarse de la competencia permitiendo así poder salir adelante y continuar con su negocio, además, espera que de esta manera sus ingresos aumenten considerablemente, permitiendo tener una mejor calidad de vida y mayores oportunidades económicas para progresar.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
