Diana Isabel's story

Diana is a member of the “Medio Ejido” communal bank; she lives in Medio Ejido in the city of Cuenca, a city with beautiful scenery that allows us to admire nature’s beauty. Since December, 1999, it’s been a World Cultural Heritage site. It has great natural and cultural beauty which its inhabitants still preserve.

Diana is 36 years old, married and has two children who are 13 and 10 years old. Her oldest daughter attends secondary school and her son is in the local elementary school. Her husband is a driver by profession and works for a private institution. She does not have a house of her own, she’s a renter.

Diana has been employed as a private employee for a year and a half. She works Monday to Saturday all day and in the evenings and in her free time she sells food; she’s been in business three years. She also makes snacks but only on order.

She’s been in the communal bank for three years and will use her new loan to buy ingredients to prepare her dishes. Her dream is to own a house.
