A loan of $300 helped to purchase fertilizer and two pigs.

Oscar's story

Oscar runs a small grocery store and also plants grain crops. He lives with his family, a wife and three children who are 11, 10 and 5 years old. Oscar makes his living planting corn and beans. At the same time, and with his family's help, he runs a small grocery store, and has done so for the last 6 years. He learned his trade from his parents.
Oscar is requesting the loan in order to purchase fertilizer, which will be used in the next planting, and two pigs. With the purchase, he will have everything he needs to grow his crop and to have a new source of income. The risk comes from the strong wintertime storms.
Oscar's goals are to establish a more profitable business, which would allow him to stabilize his personal living condition and that of his family, and to support his children in their educations.
