A loan of $1,475 helped to buy construction materials to build a room.

Serafina's story

Serafina, 57, is married and has a 20 year-old son. She has a business making the petticoats that the "cholitas," (indigenous women who wear the traditional costume), wear with traditional Bolivian skirts. Her workshop and home are located in the Huayra Kassa neighborhood. This will be her second loan with the institution. Serafina will use the money to buy construction materials, because she is adding a room to her house. She is requesting this loan so that she can improve her family's quality of life and provide them with greater comfort. Serafina faces challenges in her business, such as the competition. She will continue to use the profits from this business to build a house for her son. Over time, she wants to have a bigger workshop, to hire employees, and to deliver her merchandise to the various markets in the City of Cochabamba. She feels happy and grateful that you are providing her with this opportunity.
