Mahugnon 3 Group's story

The Mahugnon 3 group is composed of three individuals living in the same district and belonging to the same community savings group. This is the third time that the group is requesting financial aid from ALIDé, with the goal of expanding their business activities. The group’s representative, by the name of Mahoussi Helene, is the one raising her hand in the photo. Mahoussi Helene is 54 years old and lives in Benin. She did not attend school. She is married to Richard, a stonemason. They have two dependent children, one of whom is in school. Mahoussi Helene lives together with her husband and children. The spouses jointly provide for various household needs. In order to be able to meet her family’s needs efficiently, for 23 years, Mahouss helene has been selling cooked dishes (rice with fried fish, spaghetti) at a school of Benin. Mahoussi Helene stocks up in Benin. Wishing to meet customer need and increase her sales volume and her revenues, Mahoussi Helene, together with the other members of the Mahugnon 3 group, is seeking her third loan from ALIDé. The two prior loans have been duly repaid.
