Someng, 33, is married and resides with her husband and three children in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. She has been involved in growing rice and fattening up animals for more than ten years, earning approximately $3 per day. Her husband is a construction foreman who earns about $4 per day. Her children are still in her care and in school. In order to improve her family’s finances, Someng is requesting a loan of $1000 to purchase construction tools for her husband to use in his work. In the future, she would like to expand her business and help her children earn bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she hopes to build a new concrete house as soon as possible.
