A loan of $1,150 helped to plant and to buy fertilizer.

Marcelina's story

Marcelina, age 48, lives in her own house with her husband, 51 year old Esteban, and their four beloved children, for whom she provides a good quality of life.

She starts working in the very early hours of the morning. First she makes breakfast for her children, and then she sends them to school. After that, she heads to the fields together with her husband. They clear the weeds that make it difficult for the cacao plants to grow and produce fruit. Her greatest desire is to plant more cacao and to have greater production.

This is her fifth loan with MFP. She is happy to have this financial support. She pledges to be punctual with her payments and to not make the members of her communal bank look bad. The members rely on her responsibility. She will use the requested 3,000 soles to plant grafts of her cacao plants, and she will use the rest to get fertilizer.
