Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you members of the “Lunsar” group. These are small scale entrepreneurs who have come to SMT/Kiva lenders to seek a loan of 800,000.00 Sierra Leonean Leones (SLL) for each in the group in order to invest in their respective businesses.

Yeabu is the leader of this group. Yeabu is forty-five-years-old, married with three children who are no longer attending school. Yeabu sells market-food – tomatoes, margi (used to give suace a sweet taste), onions, pepper, salt, flour, beans, oil, etc. She has been a businesswoman for the past twenty-five years now. With the help of this loan, Yeabu will invest in her business by buying tomatoes, margi, onions, pepper, salt, flour, beans, oil, etc., in large quantities to expand her business.
