A loan of $1,200 helped to buy cymbals for his band.

Luis's story

Luís is single and has no children. He lives in his mother’s house occupying just one small room with a dirt floor; the house is located in the city of La Paz’s San Pedro zone.

He is currently studying Social Communication at the university and earns income working as a musician in a band for more than ten hours. He also rents out his instruments on the weekend which is why he needs the loan because he needs to by cymbals for the band where he works and to improve his income to cover food, utilities and his mother’s medical expenses because she’s elderly and they don’t have medical insurance. Luís also covers his university expenses with the income he earns.

Luís’ dream is to have a complete orchestra to improve his income and to help his family.

Luís’ work is very dangerous because he works nights until the wee hours of the morning because the contracts he gets are mostly for nighttime parties. This is the second time he’s worked with IMPRO and KIVA.
