Vazha's story

Vazha is a 54-year-old farmer from a small village in Kobuleti District, Seaside of Georgia. He lives with his family: his wife, Mzevinar, his two daughters (29 and 20 years old) and his 19 -year-old son. Mzevinar and her elder daughter are teachers in a local school. Vazha is running the agricultural business of the family. He grows maize on 0.2 hectares of family-owned land and tangerine on 0.5 hectare of family-owned land. He sells the harvested products at the local market. Along with the above-mentioned, Vazha has a vineyard where he grows three tons of grapes per year. Vazha makes wine and sells it in the village. The total average monthly income of the family is 1100 Laris.

Vazha requested a loan to start a beekeeping business. He plans to purchase 10 beehives and bee families. Vazha is experienced in this business, as years ago he used to be a beekeeper. The new business will give additional income to the family. He plans to reinvest the profit in the same business, to expand it in the future.
