Luanda received her first loan of $50 from Hekima in 2005, so that she could strengthen her capital. This new loan will be used to buy 10 bags of corn and drinks (10 cases of Primus, 7 cases of Aigle drinks, 8 cases of Fanta). Luanda's aim is to make her business sustainable and to build her house comfortably.

La cliente est entrepreneur, leader de l'association d’affaire Sheria, âgée de 46 ans, veuve, mère de 7 enfants. Son mari fut décédé suite à une mort inopinée. La cliente fait le petit commerce de maïs. Elle installe ses marchandises dans le quartier périphérique de Kiziba II. Il ya environs 16 ans qu’elle exerce ces petites activités. En plus, elle vend également des boissons (Primus, Fanta, coca, etc.) à son domicile pour accumuler plus des revenus. En 2005, elle bénéficia de premier crédit de l’IMF Hekima de 50$ pour renforcer son capital. Ce nouveau crédit doit lui servir de s’approvisionner avec 10 sacs de maïs et les brassicoles (10 casiers de Primus, 7 casiers de boissons Aigle, 8 casiers de Fanta ). Elle ambitionne pérenniser son entreprise et construire confortablement sa maison. La cliente remercie l’IMF Hekima pour ses actions dédiées aux pauvres femmes pour une émancipation économique et financière.

HEKIMA is a microfinance institution headquartered in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with branch offices in Goma and Bukavu. HEKIMA aims to contribute to the transformation of the economic, social, and spiritual lives of the economically active poor of the DRC. To this end, HEKIMA provides its clients with solidarity group loans to support income-generating activities. Despite ongoing instability and violence in its operating areas, HEKIMA continues to keep its doors open and provide credit and savings services for its over 90% female clientele.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
