Shaba Group's story

Joel, who is in his early 30s, is single. He has one child, who goes to school. He has had a motorcycle for two years now. He works from 8 am to 10 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be his third loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy spare parts for his motorcycle, start a local chicken business, and manage household expenses. He has paid back all his loans successfully. He wants a loan to buy more local chicken and spare parts for his motorcycle. His dream is to one day be able to own a retail shop.

He will share this loan with his loan group "Shaba," which has a total of 15 members, who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
