A loan of $1,700 helped a member to purchase chemical fertilizer and pay labour costs.

Tuzamuranemuhinzi Group's story

Daniel is a member of the Tuzamuranemuhinzi Group. The name of the group means “We, the farmers, shall self-improve.” Daniel is forty-seven years old and is the married father of eight children ranging from one to twenty-three years old -- three of whom are in school. Daniel also has four other dependents in addition to his children. He has six years of schooling at the secondary level.

Daniel is a rice farmer. This will be his second loan via ACB. He plans to use this loan to purchase chemical fertilizer and to pay labour costs.

Daniel’s plan for growing his business in the future involves him asking for more loans to improve his farm work. In the coming years, Daniel would like to become the best in his region for rice production. With his profits, he plans to build a house and pay the medical and educational fees for his children.
