A loan of $775 helped to buy tools.

Francisco Jesus's story

Francisco is a young man of 22. He lives together with his mother and his little sister who he supports a lot through his work. Sadly, their father abandoned them when they were very young. Since then, Francisco has taken the initiative of supporting his mother and sister. Their home is located in the city of Pisco. This is a city which is noted for its warm and welcoming climate. It is also home to the 'Ballestas Islands' which receive a large number of tourists year round. Francisco is a motorcycle taxi driver. He used to work in a rented vehicle but with a lot of effort, savings and, above all, a little bit of support from his family, he managed to acquire his own motorcycle taxi. He works around 10 hours a day in his vehicle. He has been working for three years and believes that his business is doing well because he is very kind to his customers and, above all, he works with a great desire to get ahead in life. This has meant that things are going well. Francisco is very grateful to Kiva lenders because, thanks to the help that they have offered, he will be able to buy tools with which to maintain his vehicle. This will enable him to have the tools he needs to deal with any problem and he will be able to offer his customers a safer journey. He will be able to continue working towards fulfilling his biggest dream: to provide his family with a better quality of life and to study for a university degree.
