A loan of $925 helped to buy coffee plants and organic manure.

Angelino's story

For several generations Angelino’s family have been coffee growers and it was thanks to his father that he learned everything related to this plant’s development while still very little. Angelino has two hectares with an annual production of 6.5 tons and needs a loan to buy coffee plants to rejuvenate his plantation; he also needs to buy fertilizer and to do weeding. In the future, Angelino would like to acquire two more hectares to increase production and income.

Besides working as a coffee grower, Angelino also works for the “Unión Regional de Huatusco” [regional coffee cooperative] which is where he delivers his coffee to be processed and then exported.

He also has a hectare planted with lemons and he’d like in the future to also produce sugarcane, beans and corn since people who live primarily off these types of crops live in this zone.

Angelino and his wife have three children two of which studied university careers thanks to the efforts of their parents and they hope that in a few years their youngest daughter will also be able to attend university to have good employment opportunities.
