A loan of $775 helped to buy fruit and tubers to stock her business.

Suli Wuilma's story

Suli’s a 61 year old, married woman with no children in her care. She lives with her spouse in her own house. It’s mentioned that the living conditions in the community are at the subsistence level. Most of the residents are independent workers who are in commerce and animal husbandry; some of them also work in agriculture. Suli lives in Salas District in Lambayeque Department. They have all basic utilities and all the families living there do so under these conditions.

Suli’s commercial activity is selling fruit (oranges, soursops, cucumbers, papaya, apples and others) and also tubers (potatoes, sweet potatoes) in the local central market. It should be noted that Mercedes has 10 years’ experience which has allowed her to retain her business’ regular clientele. Her husband helps her with this activity.

Suli has proposed to increase her working capital because this is a very profitable activity in the zone which is why she’s asking Edpyme Alternativa for a new loan in the amount of 2000 new soles to buy fruit and tubers to stock her business which in time will allow her to gradually improve her family’s standard of living.
