Felix Gerardo's story

Felix is a very hard working young man. He has one small son whom he loves very much and above all he is the reason he works hard, so that he can give him the best and so that he will be happy. His house is located in the district of Parcona; an area known for having a hot climate, and for being an area known for agriculture and livestock. During his free time Felix likes to read and to take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy one of his favorite Peruvian foods, Arroz con Pato (rice with duck). He was only able to study through junior high, but he would have liked to have studied law.

Everyday Felix goes to work in his carpentry business. The majority of the jobs he has are upholstering chairs and also fixing shoes. He usually works around 10 hours a day and helps an average of 6 customers during this time. He believes his business is doing well because he is very nice to his customers and above all because he is creative.

Felix is very thankful to the lenders on Kiva; thanks to the help they have given he will be able to buy materials to be able to do his work, like fabric, glue, tools, nails, sponge and other things. With these purchases he will be able to complete his work and continue working to make his biggest dream come true, to be able to give his son a good education and a happy life.
