A loan of $4,450 helped a member to buy more fruit to sell and pay her children's school fees.


Tuamoyo Group's story

Salma, who is in her early 40s, is married and has five children, all of whom are in school. She has earned a living by running a fruit and vegetable business for the last four years. She works from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

She is requesting her fourth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to pay school fees, buy more fruit to sell and pay household expenses, and paid back all of her loans successfully. She will use this latest loan to buy more fruit to sell and pay her children's school fees. Her dream is to one day be able to build her own house.

She will share this loan with her loan group "Tuamoyo," which has a total of 13 members, all of whom will hold the others accountable for paying back their loans.
