A loan of $400 helped to buy lotions, perfume, and creams.

Monica's story

Mónica, age 22, is a Young merchant who sells products that are promoted through specialized guides. She started this business two years ago when a leader from an important business got her an order of varied merchandise for $160.00 COP to pay for on credit.

Her perseverance in the business and her work discipline very quickly gave results, and her clientele started to grow.

This made her even more enthusiastic. Her credit limit in this magazine was increasing, so she added the service of cell phone calls.

Her goals are to manage to totally cover the family’s expenses, to have enough money to continue her education, and to get a degree in a technical career that will transform her into a successful person.

She is currently applying for a Kiva loan, which is her first loan with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will use the loan to buy lotions, perfume, and creams in order to take advantage of the seasonal special offers. She will offer her customers an opportune price for the products, which will allow Mónica to increase her sales, earn money, and have more and more capital.
