Perpetua

A loan of $500 helped to buy palm wine, beer and seedlings.

Perpetua's story

Perpetua is a widow with five children. She lives in the northwest region of Bamenda in Cameroon (Africa). She lives with her entire family in a two-bedroom house.

The passing away of Perpetua's husband was one of the most difficult moments in her life. Thieves broke into her house and pigs were stolen from her. She has had difficulty many times in paying her rent.

Perpetua has benefited from loans from GHAPE two times previously. This will be her third loan from GHAPE. She has been in GHAPE since 2009 and has been very successful in her past businesses.

Perpetua plans to use her loan for the purchase of palm wine, beer and seedlings. She thinks her business will succeed because she has so many customers and her beer store is situated in a good area in her community. Also, she has been doing this business for three years.

She intends to use the proceeds to pay her children's school fees, buy some basic necessities for her children and build a house.
