A loan of $775 helped to buy a bull for plowing.

Victoria's story

Victoria is 56 years old. She lives with Juan, her husband. They have 5 children, but they only live with one of them, little Juan, whom they are raising in their own house, located in the area of Pampa Blanca.

Victoria is currently in delicate health because of the cold weather of the area. Even so, she feels very happy because she has the support of her husband, who gets up very early to continue with his agricultural labors. Their crops consist mainly of olluco [tuber similar to a potato], potatoes, and corn, which he sells in the city every Friday that there is a market day.

They also have bulls that help with the agricultural tasks, such as plowing the land. She also has cows and 3 pigs, which she fattens up and then sells to the butchers in the area, which brings her extra income. Now she is thinking of planting olluco after the corn harvest, which will be ready in a few days.

She belongs to the “Pampa Blanca” communal bank and this is her 9th loan with Microfinanzas Prisma. She feels happy because she has been working with her group for several years, and the members always help each other out.

Victoria will use the requested money to buy a bull to help with the plowing because she only has one and she needs another to start work.
