A loan of $1,150 helped to buy natural fertilizer.

Antonia's story

Antonia, 34, has lived with her husband, Alberto, for 12 years. They have 4 children and live in a rented house in Pampa Blanca.

Antonia begins her days by collecting firewood to prepare her food. “I like to make the food naturally-I don’t like the modern kitchens”, she says. For this she collects branches that have fallen from trees and sometimes, takes advantage of the walk to let her cows graze. She has 5, all good breeds and one of her businesses is buying and selling the cows.

But as a good daughter of the countryside she also plants rented fields with potatoes, corn, quinoa and beans. During the time of the potato harvest, she takes the crop to the capital of the country where there are good buyers. But she sells the other products in her own city since she has regular customers.
For the future she has many projects, one of which is to build her own house and begin to save money so that she can have her own fields.

She belongs to the Pampa Blanca communal bank and this is her 8th loan with MFP. She is happy now that she has many years working with the group since the members are very supportive of each other.
Antonia will use the requested money to buy island guano ((guano, a natural fertilizer collected from one of the Peruvian islands) for her next corn crop.
