A loan of $575 helped to buy animal feed and to repair the animal pens.

Carmen Daniela's story

Carmen is a 19 year old woman, single, living at home with her parents. The quality of life is subsistence level. Most of the residents are self-employed working in trade and breeding small animals and also some of them work in agriculture. Carmen lives in the district of Las Lomas and in the department of Piura, with only the basic service of electricity and they obtain their water through an artesian well, and all the families who settle here live under these conditions.

Carmen’s commercial activity is breeding and selling cattle, pigs, and poultry. She raises these animals in pens outside her home. It is noteworthy that Carmen has two years of experience in this business. She sells her animals to the wholesalers in the area, and her parents support her in this activity.

Currently Carmen has proposed expanding her inventory of breeding and selling animals because this activity is very profitable in her area, and because of these circumstances she is requesting a new loan from Edpyme Aternative in the amount of 1500 soles which will be earmarked for the investment of buying animal feed and making repairs to the animal pens, which in time will allow her to improve her standard of living.
