A loan of $800 helped to buy the supplies she needs to make the food, and to build an “ECOFUGON” ( improved wood-burning cook stove that is more efficient in producing plant carbon of better quality).

Doris's story

Doris, age 48, is married and has three children. She lives in the city of San Pedro Sula, Cortes.

Doris has a business selling food. She sells her customers "baleadas" (flour tortillas with beans, eggs, butter, cheese and meat), lunches, and corn tortillas. She says that her motivation for devoting herself to this business activity was to be able to help her minor son with his education. She has managed to improve herself with the loans that ODEF has given her.

She is now requesting another loan for 15,000 lempiras to buy the supplies she needs to make the food. She will use another part to be able to pay to build an “ECOFUGON” ( improved wood-burning cook stove that is more efficient in producing plant carbon of better quality) that she will use to cook the food.

Her plan is to be able to have a place in a central area that people frequent in order to be able to grow and form a financial heritage for her minor son.
