A loan of $1,150 helped to pay for improvements to her pig pens.

Ines Marisol's story

Ines is a hardworking woman. Her home is located in the city of Ica, which is known for having warm weather throughout the year. In addition this city has developed its agriculture, especially its cotton, asparagus, and pepper crops, among others. Whenever she has free time available, Ines enjoys going for walks so that she can unwind a bit, forget about her everyday worries, and get out of a bad mood. Since her parents had limited financial resources, Ines only has a high school education. She would have liked to have studied Business Administration.

Ines works with great enthusiasm in her business of raising and selling pigs. She works approximately four hours a day and is very dedicated. Ines wakes up very early so that she can feed the pigs and clean the area where they are raised. She believes she is doing well in her business because the pigs are well-fed and her customers always purchase from her because they know the pigs have been raised in a fine manner.

Ines is extremely grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to the assistance that will be given to her, she will be able to make improvements to the animals pens where the pigs are kept. These improvements will provide more space for the pigs and she will be able to raise more piglets and improve her income. Ines continues to strive each day to accomplish her greatest dream of having a larger business and a happy life.
