A loan of $3,275 helped a member to increase her working capital - buying a large quantity of containers of palm oil to resell.

Abatarambirwa Group's story

Safiya is a member of the Abatarambirwa group, and she lives in Ngozi. She is 32 years old, and is married to Ramazani, a clothing salesman. Together they have 4 children, aged from 6 to 15 years old - all attending primary school.

She has been trading palm oil for 4 years.

This is her ninth loan with Turame. With the KIVA loan she is seeking, she will increase her working capital by buying a large quantity of containers of palm oil to resell, in order to increase her income.

In the coming years, she would like to have water and electricity connected to her home, and to buy an additional plot of land.
