Sisters Of Destiny Group's story

Members of the Sisters Of Destiny group are pictured in the photo. The members are small-scale businesswomen based in Koidu, a city in eastern Sierra Leone. This is the first loan that these entrepreneurs have received from SMT/Kiva lenders. With this loan, they will be able to expand their businesses, make more profits and consequently improve their standards of living.

The leader of this group is Sallamatu. She was born in Tankoro, which is in eastern Sierra Leone. Sallamatu is 38 years old, married to a driver and has four children with her husband – two in primary school and two in secondary school.

Sallamatu has been selling firewood and charcoal for thirteen years. With this loan, she will buy firewood and charcoal at wholesale prices in order to sell retail to her customers.
