A loan of $400 helped to buy balanced feed and to repair the corrals.

Sebastián's story

Sebastián is a 24-year-old single man without children. He lives in his own house with his parents. He mentions that the quality of life in the community is subsistence. The majority of the residents are independent workers in trade and raising small animals, and some also work in agriculture.

Sebastián lives in the hamlet of La Capilla Santa Rosa in the district of Mochumi in the department of Lambayeque, and has only basic electric service. He gets his water from a communal tap. All the families there live under these conditions.

The business Sebastián works in is raising and selling livestock (goats, pigs, sheep, and poultry). He raises these animals in corrals outside his home. It is worth emphasizing that Sebastián has two years of experience in this work, which has allowed him to keep his established clientele. He sells his animals to the wholesale vendors of the area. He also works as a day laborer in a rice mill, which allows him to have additional income.

Currently Sebastián has decided to expand his inventory for raising and selling animals because it is a very profitable business in the area. This is why he is requesting another loan from Edpyme Alternative for the sum of 1000 nuevos soles (PEN), which will be invested in buying balanced feed and repairing the corrals for his animals. In time this will allow him to continue improving his standard of living.
