A loan of $375 helped to buy poultry birds.

Stephen's story

Stephen is a resident of Kitale in Western Kenya and has been in farming for ten years; producing and selling maize, beans and milk, which are sold within the local market. He is married with three children aged 22, 20 and 18 and all are still schooling.

Stephen has requested a loan of 30,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to buy poultry birds. He says the venture into poultry farming will boost his farming income and enable him to offer the best college education for his three children, as well as improve the living standards of his family.

He says the challenge remains poor roads networks, which makes access to markets difficult.
