A loan of $825 helped to buy more clothes and shoes for reselling.

Margret's story

Margret is 30 years old and lives in the town of Kyengera in the Kampala West region of Uganda. She is married and has 3 children who are all currently in school. For the past 6 years, Margret has been working hard to manage her small business which sells clothes and shoes.

To help expand her business, Margret has requested a loan of 2000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more clothes and shoes for reselling and will help Margret to generate greater profits and increase her capital. Margret hopes that in the future she will be able to start trading up to other countries.

Margret is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Margret who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
