Joyce is married with five children, two in school. She sells potatoes and coconuts at the market. Her other source of income is earnings from her husband. Joyce’s primary customers are her neighbors and passersby. She aspires to hire employees in the future. With the loan of Ksh. 50000, she will be able to start a charcoal and firewood business. She joined Yehu to get cheap loans.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
