Cisne Group's story

The “Cisne” (Swan) group is made up of 10 people each with their own economic activity. Alexandra sells fast food snacks, Juaquina sells fast food snacks, Andrea sells shoes, Elizabeth sells shoes, Raul provides taxi service, Guadalupe sells fast food snacks, Salvador has a car wash, Lidia sells shoes, Fedora sells food, Laura sells cosmetics. This group is from the community of Vicente where the “La Margarita” sugar processing estate is located. Residents work growing and harvesting sugarcane. Salvador is 34 years old. He went to secondary school and is single living with his parents. He relates that when he was little his father had a tire repair shop and car wash where he learned how to work when he was still very little. Now that he’s grown he’s inherited the family business. He’s very happy to continue with this business and more so because he works alongside his brother. The car wash is located alongside the highway that runs in front of his house. The business is one of the better known ones in his town because of the good service they give the cars. Many of his customers comment that in his business service to customers and attention paid to the cars is very good so they always come back to Salvador to wash their cars. Salvador will invest his loan in the purchase of an air compressor, hoses, soap, brooms and flannel rags to continue with his business. He hopes it will continue making progress because thanks to it his family has moved ahead and he wants to give his parents a better quality of life. This group appreciates the support it’s gotten.
