A loan of $825 helped to expand her business.

Amina's story

Amina is 28 years old and lives in the town of Nasana in the Kampala west region of Uganda. She is married and has 3 children with 2 of them currently in school. For the past 6 years, Amina has been working hard to manage her small business, which sells spare parts.

To help expand her business, Amina has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to expand her business, and will help Amina to generate greater profits and increase her capital. Amina hopes that in the future she will be able to become a big supplier.

Amina is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Amina who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
