A loan of $400 helped to rent a piece of land to make bricks.

Lucía's story

Lucía is 40 years old and lives with her three children in her own house, which is located in the town of San Pedro de Saño.

She has worked making bricks in her mini-factory for 13 years. In order to do so, she rents pieces of land that have clay soil, which is the main raw material needed to make her bricks. With her siblings' help, she delivers to the customers who order from her, according to production. She also hires several workers, whose manpower helps her make large quantities of bricks, counted by the thousands. Over all these years of work, she has seen her business develop. It has allowed her to support her children, and that is why she wants to continue in this line of work.

This is her 22nd loan with MFP. She is very happy to know she has financial support, since they know she is responsible with her payments. She also enjoys belonging to her communal bank because she knows all the members and they are all responsible and very supportive people.

Lucía will invest the money she is requesting in paying rent for a new piece of land, which has a good layer of clay soil, and also in purchasing sawdust.
