A loan of $950 helped to buy a cow.

Elba's story

Elba, 40, is a serious woman with many goals. She lives with Joel, her husband of 13 years. They have a daughter, Melina, whom they take care of a lot. Her house is her own; it is located in the hamlet of Usibamba.

She does various jobs. In the morning, very early, she opens the doors of her house, where some time ago she set up a grocery store. As a country woman, she also raises livestock. She has four cows and she sells the milk they produce. She also grows crops on her croplands: oats, broad beans, peas, and potatoes.

She says that since she was 15 she has worked independently because she had to help her family. In time she became independent. Because of this she does not rest; on the contrary, for the future she wants to increase her profits with the purchase of pigs. She plans to fatten them up and sell them to the butchers in the area.

She belongs to the Usibamba group and this is her third loan with MFP. She promises to be punctual in making her payments, as with the previous loans she had.

Elba will invest the requested money in buying a cow to increase her livestock, because she sold one a short time ago.
