A loan of $1,500 helped to purchase quality fabric, raw materials and a new sewing machine.

Bexal's story

Bexal is a 31-year-old Iraqi woman. She is married and the mother of two children.

Having limited career options due to cultural restrictions and domestic constraints, Bexal is one of many women who work from home. She uses her sewing skills to generate some income and participate in meeting the financial needs of her family.

Bexal has four years experience. She makes dresses for women and fills custom orders for small fabric household items.

Hoping to improve the quality of the services she can offer and make her work more efficient, Bexal took a loan from Relief International Microfinance Iraq in the amount of 1500 USD to purchase quality fabric, raw materials and a new sewing machine.
