A loan of $950 helped to purchase merchandise (rice, sugar, and noodles, among other things).

Siomara Velmina's story

Siomara is a very hard-working and enthusiastic woman, who has two young children with her husband. They are aged 3 and 9, and she loves them very much. She dedicates her life to moving them ahead in life, as they are the greatest gift that God has given her. Her husband helps her with everything, and above all is her right hand. He works as a laborer in the fields, and also as a fisherman. Together with Siomara, he shares in covering the household expenses. Their home is located in the city of Camana, a city which is characterized by its beautiful beaches; its agriculture, especially rice farming; and also its fishing. When Siomara has free time, she very much enjoys going for walks with her young children. She also likes to enjoy her favorite dish, which is steamed fish.

On a daily basis, Siomara goes to work in her business with much enthusiasm, selling groceries from the small store she has in her home. She works around twelve hours a day, and can serve up to 30 customers a day. She believes that things are going well for her with her business because she is very friendly to her customers and uses charisma in making her sales.

Siomara is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, as thanks to the support that they have provided her, she will be able to purchase more merchandise for her business such as rice, sugar, noodles, canned goods, and beans among other things. In this way she will be able to improve her income and stock a greater variety of products. This will allow her to continue working and continue striving on a daily basis to make her most important dream a reality: "To be able to build her home out of fine materials"
