Fatoumata's story

Fatoumata is 31 years old, married, and mother of one child. She lives with her husband and child in the Médine district of Bougouni. Fatoumata is a teacher by training. Along with teaching, Fatoumata is involved in general trading activities such as the buying and selling of pagnes (colorful African wax cloth), shoes, and bed sheets. She learned this business from one of her friends from her neighborhood.

With over six years of experience, she is an expert in this business. Trying to grow her business, she decided to take out a loan with Soro Yiriwaso to buy 10 complete sets of women's clothing, 2 Uniwax pagnes, and 10 pairs of women's shoes. She stocks up in Burkina Faso. She sells her items from home and from place to place in the different neighborhoods of Bougouni to a mixed group of customers.

With this loan, she plans to earn a monthly profit of 35,000 FCFA. She plans to use these profits to grow her business.
