A loan of $575 helped to perform maintenance and to buy a radio and speakers.

Rosa Del Pilar's story

Rosa is a young woman of 27. She is very enthusiastic and hardworking, mostly because she is the mother of two little ones who are six and nine years old. She takes care of them on her own for reasons beyond her control; the father of her little ones left her and since then she has been both mother and father to them. In spite of that, through great efforts she has been able to get ahead and show that her motherly love is more powerful than any problem. Her home is in the city of Ica, which is known for having a hot, comfortable climate year-round. It is also a place where agriculture is practiced, particularly the planting of cotton, grapes, and asparagus, among others.

Rosa works at her business as a mototaxi driver with great effort and dedication. She shows us that mother can do anything in order to get her children ahead. She spends about 10 hours at work and she serves up to 30 customer per day. She believes that her business is going well because she has proven to be responsible and, above all, friendly to her customers.

Rosa is very thankful to Kiva's lenders, as it is thanks to the help they have given her that she will be able to perform maintenance on her car and also buy a small radio and some speakers. This will allow her to offer her customers more comfort and she will keep working to make her greatest dream a reality: to give her children a profession.
