A loan of $2,850 helped a member to buy supplies such as flour, yeast and butter.

La Pampa Group's story

The 'La Pampa' community bank has eight members: six women and two men. The bank's president is 44-year-old Nancy. She is not married but lives with her partner. The couple have two children who are 10 and 17 years old. Nancy's business is making and selling bread. She has been working as a baker for several years. Her bakery is located in the town of El Torno. This is her first loan with the institution. Nancy will use her loan to buy supplies such as flour, yeast and butter for making bread. She is requesting this loan to buy supplies wholesale as it works out cheaper to buy in bulk. Nancy faces challenges in her business such as trying to attract more customers so that she can make more income. She will use the profits from her business to offer her family a better quality of life.
