Tsitsino's story

Tsitsino is 54 years old. She lives in a small village of Sachkhere District with her son, Arsen. Arsen is employed in Tbilisi (capital city of the country) as a worker.

Tsitsino leads the agricultural business for the family. In particular, she has two milk cows. Tsitsino produces traditional Georgian cheese and sells it to local dairy products retailers. Along with the dairy farm, she grows haricot and maize on family owned (0.4 hectare) land. Harvested products are sold to local retailers as well. The total average monthly income of the family is 1000 Laris.

Tsitsino requested credit to open a grocery store in a building located in her garden. Tsitsino will purchase fridges and grocery products for resale. According to her estimate, the store will be profitable, as there are no similar stores nearby in the village. She will offer to customers a big assortment of products. Tsitsino plans to reinvest the profit during the first year to expand the store.
