Ley, 43, is married and resides with her husband and her parents in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia. She has been involved in growing rice and fattening up cattle for more than twenty years, earning approximately USD 6 per day.
Her husband is a construction worker who earns about USD 6 per day. In order to improve her husband’s business, Ley is requesting a loan of USD 1500 to purchase construction tools for her husband to use at work. This purchase would give him the ability to bid for bigger construction projects. In the future, she would like to expand her business and rebuild her present house to make it more comfortable for her family.
